About Geeky @ Home

Hi, I’m Kerry—and I’m probably growing something on my counter right now.

Sometimes it’s herbs.
Sometimes it’s sprouts.
Sometimes it’s… an experiment that felt like a good idea at the time.

GeekyAtHome is where gardening, cooking, and curiosity all collide.
It’s part backyard garden, part kitchen lab, and part “let’s see what happens if we try this.”

What you’ll find here

A little bit of everything, including:

  • Things I’ve grown (hydroponics, backyard attempts, and what survives North Texas weather)
  • Recipes that come from those harvests—or from whatever I thought would work
  • Kitchen experiments (some successful, some… educational)
  • Delicious words that make everyday life feel a little better

Why “Geeky”?

Because I like to know why things work. But don’t worry—this isn’t a science class.

It’s more like:
“Let’s try this thing, talk about it, and eat the results (hopefully).”

This is not a perfect food blog

You won’t find:

  • complicated recipes with 47 steps
  • impossible standards
  • or a kitchen that always looks put together

You will find:

  • real meals
  • honest results
  • and the occasional “well… that didn’t work” moment

Why I started this

I wanted something slower.
Something more grounded.
Something that felt a little more like me.

Growing food—even a little of it—changed how I cook.
And cooking changed how I experience everyday life.

This space is where all of that comes together. Everything on this website is written by a human. No AI tools are used.

If you’re here…

If you like:

  • cozy food
  • tiny garden victories
  • trying things just to see what happens

…you’re in the right place.

We’re just figuring it out as we go.

Come hang out

Whether you’re here for recipes, gardening ideas, or just a little inspiration to try something new—I’m really glad you’re here.
